Christopher Ryan Snyder (born February 12, 1981 in Houston, Texas) is a catcher in Major League Baseball who plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks (2004-present). He bats and throws right handed.

Baseball Career

In 2004, Snyder played briefly in his rookie year with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He entered the 2005 season battling Koyie Hill, who had been acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers, for the role as starting catcher. The two would eventually platoon throughout the year, neither stepping up as the better player.

Although it is believed that Koyie Hill will end up as the catcher of the future for the Diamondbacks, Chris Snyder should have a successful career in the Majors, whether it be in Arizona or elsewhere.
