Chris Wingert (born June 16, 1982 in Babylon, New York) is an American soccer player, who currently plays defense for the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer.

Wingert had an exceptional college soccer career at St. John's University, beginning in 2000. Wingert was twice named an NSCAA All-American, and in his senior season led the Red Storm to an NCAA Championship, winning the Hermann Trophy for his play. Wingert played a total of 88 games for St. John's, missing only one game in his career, while playing for the US Under-23 team. In his four years at the university, he scored 13 goals and 12 assists.

Wingert was drafted 12th overall by the Columbus Crew in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft, going so low because teams did not believe that he was athletic enough to excel in the pro game. Nevertheless, Wingert managed to earn a spot on a very good Crew team and was a versatile member of the squad for two years. He was traded to Colorado prior to the 2006 season.

His father, Norm Wingert, played for the North American Soccer League.
