| Clarence E. "Big House" Gaines (b. May 21, 1923 in Paducah, Kentucky, United States - d. April 18, 2005 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina) was a former college men's basketball coach. He coached at Winston-Salem State University from 1946 to 1993, compiling an 828-447 record. Among his former players is fellow Hall of Famer Earl Monroe and noted commentator and columnist Stephen A. Smith.
