Darryl Stingley (born September 18, 1951) was a wide receiver with a 5 year career from 1973 to 1977. He played his entire career with the New England Patriots of the National Football League.

He grew up in Chicago, and was a standout running back in high school. He was offered and accepted a football scholarship to Purdue University, where he was converted into a wide receiver. He was a first round draft pick of the New England Patriots in 1973, along with John Hannah of the University of Alabama and Sam Cunningham of the University of Southern California.

On August 12, 1978, in a pre-season game vs. the Oakland Raiders, Stingley was the victim of a legal but vicious hit by the Raiders Jack Tatum, breaking Stingley's neck, and making him a quadriplegic for life.

Stingley wrote "Happy to Be Alive" in 1983, a memoir of his life and injury.

He now lives in Chicago.
