David Heath (born in Florida, USA) is a professional wrestler known by his stage names of The Vampire Warrior and Gangrel. He is known for living a gothic lifestyle, with his in-ring behaviour believed not to be as far from reality as some would assume. His vampire-like fangs are real; he had his teeth altered to make them more pronounced.CareerHeath trained with Dean Malenko in Florida until he made his name on the Florida independent circuit as "The Vampire Warrior". The Vampire Warrior was featured in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) with his real-life wife Luna Vachon as his valet. He wrestled in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) for a brief period before signing with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), now World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). The name of his WWE persona, Gangrel, was derived from a vampire clan from the White Wolf roleplaying game Vampire: The Masquerade. As Gangrel, Heath formed a gothic stable, called The Brood, with fellow WWE wrestlers Edge (Adam Copeland) and Christian (Jason Reso). The three eventually joined up with The Undertaker and his "Ministry of Darkness" stable. After Edge & Christian left, he briefly teamed with The Hardy Boyz as "The New Brood", but it wasn't as successful. He then became a singles wrestler, managed by real-life wife Luna Vachon. Gangrel was released from WWE in 2001.At TNA's first PPV show in 2002, Gangrel, under the name Vampire Warrior, competed in the 20 man 'Gauntlet for the Gold' match to crown the first NWA world heavyweight champion in the TNA era. He made several other appearances before leaving the company. In 2004, Heath made several appearances for WWE using the Gangrel name with his old entrance music and gimmick. His entrance involves rising from a ring of fire, followed by a slow walk to the ring set to sinister music, then drinking "blood" from a goblet and spraying it into the air. On April 30, 2005, Heath appeared in Ohio Valley Wrestling, the primary developmental territory of WWE. He was re-signed to a WWE contract soon after, but was released once more on July 5.
