David M. Pollack (born June 19, 1982 in New Brunswick, New Jersey) is an American football linebacker for the Cincinnati Bengals of the NFL. He was selected with the 17th overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft out of the University of Georgia. On August 17, 2005, Pollack signed a 5 year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals worth up to $13 million, with $7.65 million in guaranteed money. Pollack's agents and Bengals management were at a stalemate in negotiations for 19 days, and consequently, Pollack missed all 24 sessions of Bengals training camp.

High school career

David Pollack attended Shiloh High School in Snellville, Georgia, where he was a three sport star in football, basketball and wrestling.

College career

David Pollack played college football at The University of Georgia. He became only the second 3-time All-American in school history. In addition to his All-American honors, Pollack received the 2004 Chuck Bednarick Award - given annually to the top collegiate defensive player, the 2003 and 2004 Ted Hendricks award - given annually to the top collegiate defensive end and the 2004 Vince Lombardi Rotary award - given annually to the top defensive or offensive collegiate lineman who, in addition to outstanding performance and ability, best exemplifies the discipline of Vince Lombardi. His signature play was during a sack of the opposing QB, Pollack stripped the ball from his hands while in the endzone and received credit for scoring a touchdown on the strip.

He was roommates with UGA quarterback and childhood friend David Greene
who was drafted 85th by the Seattle Seahawks in 2005.
