David Thornton (born November 1, 1978 in Goldsboro, North Carolina) is a starting outside linebacker for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League. He was a fourth round pick in the 2002 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts after playing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His greatest season came in 2003 when he led the Colts with 145 tackles while also adding 2 interceptions. He became an unrestricted free agent and signed a five-year deal with the Titans, on March 13, 2006 .
