Athletes - Deb Richard


Deb Richard (born June 13, 1963 in Abbeville, Louisiana; raised in Manhattan, Kansas) was a golfer on the LPGA Tour for 20 years (1986-2005). She won five Tour events and finished in the top ten in dozens of others.

Richard found great success as an amateur golfer, beginning early by winning the high school State Championship three years straight for Manhattan High School (1979-1981), and winning the Kansas Women's Amateur each of the next two years (1982, 1983). In 1984, Richard won the U.S. Women's Amateur. At the University of Florida, she was the runner-up in the 1985 NCAA Championships and won the Broderick Award as the outstanding female collegiate golfer.

Accolades

In 1992, Richard was selected for the Solheim Cup team. She has been inducted into the University of Florida's Hall of Fame.

Richard has also received a number of awards for her charitable activities.
