| Dennis "Denny" Green is the current head coach of the Arizona Cardinals and former head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. He was the 5th Vikings coach, succeeding Jerry Burns. Mike Tice took over as Vikings coach after the end of the season in 2001. He is one of only a handful of African-American coaches in the NFL. He led the Vikings to a 15-1 record in 1998 and two NFC Championship (losses) in 1998 and 2000. He grew up in the inner city of Harrisburg, PA. Green was a star halfback with the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. Formerly, he was the head coach at Northwestern University and Stanford University, as well as a stint as Running Backs coach for the San Francisco 49ers under Bill Walsh.
