| Richard Louis Sharon (born April 15, 1950 in San Mateo, California) was a professional Major League Baseball player. Sharon was a first round, 9th pick draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1968. He first broke into the major leagues at age 23 with the Detroit Tigers on May 13 1973. In 1974 he earned a peak salary of $19,000.00 with the Tigers. In 1975 he joined the San Diego Padres, playing his last professional game on September 28 1975. Sharon is a notable graduate of Kennedy Middle School and Sequoia High School in Redwood City, California. He did not attend college.
