| Paul Howard "Dizzy" Trout (June 29, 1915 – February 28, 1972) was a Major League Baseball pitcher primarily of the Detroit Tigers. Born in Sandcut, Indiana, Trout played for the Tigers for fourteen seasons, accompanying the team to two World Series, in 1940 and 1945. He won 27 games and threw seven shutouts on 33 complete games in the 1944 season, including a American League-leading 2.12 ERA. In Trout's career, he won 170 games and hit 20 home runs.
