| Merle Theron (Doc) Adkins ( August 5, 1872 - February 21, 1934) was a pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Boston Red Sox (1902) and New York Highlanders (1903). Adkins batted and threw right handed. He was born in Troy, Wisconsin.
In a two-season career, Adkins posted a 1-1 record with 12 strikeouts and a 5.00 ERA in 27.0 innings pitched. Adkins died in Durham, North Carolina at age of 63.
