| Dwight White (born July 30, 1949) was a American football player who played defensive end with the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a member of the famed Steel Curtain defense. He played college football at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Prior to Super Bowl IX, White spent much of the prevoius week in a hospital, suffering from a vital infection, but he played most of the game. White accounted for the only scoring in the first half when he sacked Fran Tarkenton in the end zone for a safety — the first points in Steelers' history in a championship game. The Steelers defeated the Minnesota Vikings 16-6.
