Elena Delle Donne (born 1989) is regarded by many as the LeBron James of girls' basketball. She is in her sophomore season at Ursuline Academy in Wilmington, Delaware. She has led Ursuline to three straight Delaware State Championship titles

Delle Donne is 6'4" (193cm) and has set the girls' high school national record for consecutive free throws made (80) in 2005-06.

On March 10, 2006, Delle Donne scored 50 points in the Delaware State Championship Game against St. Elizabeth and highly touted recruit Khadijah Rushdan.

Ursuline Raiders

Elena is the anchor on the 2005-06 Ursuline Academy Raiders' squad. Ursuline played in the Nike Tournament of Champions in late December 2005, and had a very impressive showing with a 3-1 record, with their only loss to Tina Charles and undefeated Christ the King (Bronx, NY). The Raiders won the Diamond State Classic just a week later, beating Khadijah Rushdan and the St. Elizabeth's Vikings. The St. Elizabeth vs. Ursuline game is popular in Wilmington, as the cross-city and Catholic League rivals compete, and Khadijah Rushdan's and Elena Delle Donne's abilities are showcased.

Fencor AAU

Elena also plays on an AAU team, Fencor, in the offseason, which won the 2005 AAU 15u National Championship.
