Athletes - Eric Langill

Eric Langill (Born April 4, 1979 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada) is a Major League Baseball in the Los Angeles Dodgers system.

Langill was originally drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 34th round of the 1999 amateur draft. He signed a free agent contract with the Dodgers in 2002. A "career minor-leaguer", Langill has spent the last four years in the Dodgers minor league system. He was invited to spring training prior to the 2006 season. On March 8, 2006, Langill was cut from the Spring roster and reassigned to minor league camp.

Langill's lack of athletic ability coupled with his overwhelming heart and desire has earned him a cult following throughout the Dodgers' system. His presence at the Dodgers 2006 spring training camp was a direct request of manager Grady Little. Langill was in camp primarily as an extra catcher to assist in handling the surplus of pitchers the Dodgers had in camp.
