Fred Beasley (born September 18, 1974 in Montgomery, Alabama) is an American football player who currently plays fullback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League. He was drafted by the 49ers in the 6th round (180th overall) in 1998 NFL Draft. He went to Auburn University.

College career

At Auburn University, Beasley split time between fullback and tailback; he finished his career with 1,241 rushing yards and 567 receiving yards.

Professional career

Beasley is widely regarded as the best blocking fullback in the NFL. In 2002 and 2003, he was selected second-team all-pro as a fullback. In 2003, he was named the NFC Pro Bowl team's starting fullback.

Scouting Report

Beasley was a devastating run blocker, but in recent years he has performed so poorly that he was benched for Chris Hetherington. He no longer has the snap into contact, hip roll, and explosion he once did. He's never been the most natural receiver in the world, possessing unnatural hands and poor reach.
