Athletes - Gary Suter


Gary Suter was born in Madison, Wisconsin on June 24 1964. He played his Junior hockey for the Dubuque Fighting Saints and then moved on to the University of Wisconsin. Gary was drafted by the Calgary Flames in round 9 (#180 overall) in the 1984 NHL Draft, and had a long and successful career in the NHL, including receiving the Calder Trophy as the NHL's top rookie in 1986. Gary's nephew Ryan Suter
currently plays for the Nashville Predators.
