Glen Anthony Rice (born May 28 1967 in Flint, Michigan) is a former NBA basketball player. Rice was a small forward well known for his pin point accuracy in shooting, ranking 4th in NBA history with 1,559 three-point field goals made.

College career

Rice played college basketball at Michigan from 1985–1989, where he became the school's all-time leading scorer (2,442 points). He led Michigan to the 1989 national championship, scoring an NCAA-record 184 points in tournament play and was voted the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

NBA career

Rice holds career averages of 18.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in 982 games with Miami Heat, Charlotte Hornets, the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers. He ranks the 48th on the all-time NBA scoring list with 18,270 career points.

Early in his career, Rice was the primary scorer for the Heat and the Hornets. When he was traded to the Lakers, he became a third scorer behind Shaquille O'Neal
and Kobe Bryant
. He won his first championship ring with the LA Lakers in 2000 leading the team alongside Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal.

His personal outstanding achievement in the NBA came when he was named MVP the 1997 All-Star game, which was commerating the 50th anniversary of NBA. In the game, he set All-Star game records of 20 points in the third quarter and 24 points in the second half.

Glen Rice ranks 4th all-time in career three-point field goals made.
