Athletes - Glen Ruth

Glen Ruth is an American professional wrestler, better known as Thrasher.

Career

Glen Ruth formed a successful tag team with Charles Warrington
known by many names. He is best known for his appearances with the World Wrestling Federation throughout the 1990s, where he teamed with Warrington as The Headbangers. The Headbangers, a pair of metal fans, were known for their outrageous costumes. They were jobbers for much of their career, though they did capture the vacant WWF World Tag Team Championships on September 7, 1997 by defeating three other teams in a four team tag match. They lost the titles to The Godwinns on October 5, 1997.

The Headbangers split in 1999 when Warrington began pursuing a singles career, but reformed in late 1999.

In 2000 Ruth took part in the match for the Hardcore Championship at WrestleMania 2000. He held the title for 45 seconds, pinning Joey Abs and then being pinned by Pete Gas.

Ruth was released from the WWF later that year.

Prior to his tag team performances Ruth had begun his solo career as The Spider. During these early years he was a student and later a trainer for The Monster Factory in New Jersey under the direction of Larry Sharpe. His abilities as a teacher were greatly appreciated by those who had a chance to study with him.
