Athletes - Hal Greer

Harold Everett Greer (born June 26, 1936 in Huntington, West Virginia) is a former pro basketball player. He played his college ball at Marshall University and is well-known for his time as sidekick of Wilt Chamberlain
on the Philadelphia 76ers, especially the 1967 team that ended the 8 year championship-winning streak of the Boston Celtics. Greer is usually considered the 3rd best guard of the 60s, behind Oscar Robertson
and Jerry West
. His hometown has honored his success by naming the main artery between campus/downtown and the interstate highway 'Hal Greer Blvd.'
