| Harry Lord (1882-1948) was a professional baseball player from 1907 to 1915, who was a member of the first team known as Boston Red Sox in 1908. Lord was born in Porter, Maine on March 8, 18882, and graduated from Bates College in 1908. Lord first played for the Boston Americans (Red Sox) in 1907 and continued to play with the Red Sox until 1910. Lord then played with the White Sox from 1910 to 1914. Lord finished his career as a player and manager with the Buffalo Buffeds in 1915. Lord played third base for most of his nine year career and had a .277 batting average with 206 stolen bases. In 1909 Lord had the fifth highest average (.311). Lord died in Westbrook, Maine on August 9, 1948 and was buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Kezar Falls, Maine.
