American figure skater Hayes Alan Jenkins was born March 23, 1933 in Akron, OH. He won four consecutive World Figure Skating Championships from 1953 to 1956. He also won the gold medal in the 1956 Winter Olympics. His brother David
won the gold in 1960. Jenkins later married Carol Heiss
, the ladies gold medalist in 1960.
