| Herb Brown (born March 14, 1936) was an American basketball head coach. He coached the Detroit Pistons from the 1975-76 NBA season to the 1977-78 season, twice making the playoffs. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Brown is a graduate of the University of Vermont in 1957. Herb Brown is the brother of Larry Brown; together, they helped coach the Pistons to win the 2004 NBA Finals. In 2006, Herb Brown was inducted into the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. Brown has also served as an assistant coach for several teams, including the Portland Trail Blazers and the Philadelphia 76ers.
