Hunter Freeman (born January 8, 1985 in Tyler, Texas) is an American soccer defender, who currently plays for the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer.

As a teenager, Freeman trained in residency at the USSF's Bradenton Academy with the United States Under-17 national team. Upon graduating, he matriculated to the University of Virginia, where he played college soccer from 2002 and 2004. Although a solid player from his freshman season, Freeman emerged as a junior, leading the NCAA with 21 assists, and being named first-team All-ACC.

Following the 2004 season, Freeman signed a Generation adidas contract with MLS, and was subsequently selected seventh overall in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft by the Rapids.
