Athletes - J. Paul Binnebose


J. Paul Binnebose (born November 26, 1977 in Sacramento, CA) was an American figure skater. He competed in pairs with partner Laura Lynn Handy
, and the duo won the bronze medal at the 1999 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. However, later that year, he suffered a skull fracture in practice that left him comatose for a time. He recovered but never returned to competitive skating.

Binnebose's accident and recovery was featured on the Discovery Health Channel television series Impact: Stories of Survival.
