Derrick Jabar Gaffney (born December 1, 1980 in San Antonio, Texas) is an American football wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was drafted with the 1st pick of the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft out of the University of Florida. He is the son of former New York Jets wide receiver Derrick Gaffney and the cousin of current Eagles teammate, cornerback Lito Sheppard. He was a four year starter with the Houston Texans. Gaffney racked up 171 catches. 2009 yards. and 7 Touchdowns. It may not seem like that much for a four year career,but he was an explosive part of Houston's offence,and hopes to be a big part in the Eagles offence. He recently signed a 1 year contract with the Eagles on March 16,2006.
