Jan-Michael Charles Gambill, who was born on June 3, 1977 in Spokane, Washington, USA, has been a professional American tennis player since 1996. At just 5 years old, Gambill began playing tennis, looking up to tennis stars Jimmy Connors

. He currently lives in Colbert, Washington. Jan-Michael Gambill is coached by his father Chuck Gambill, who also coaches Jan-Michael's younger brother Torrey Gambill.

As of 2006, Gambill's career prize money totalled approximately $3.58 million. His Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) ranking in August, 2004 was 80, while his highest ranking was World No. 14 in June, 2001. Gambill has earned three career titles for singles and five titles for doubles.
