Athletes - Jay Adams

Jay Adams (born February 3, 1961 in Los Angeles, California) is one of the original Z-Boys and is considered one of the most influential skateboarders of all time. Former Z-Boy team member Stacy Peralta
has called Adams "the world's greatest natural skater." Adams is featured prominently in the documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys and in the fictionalized account of the Z-Boys, Lords of Dogtown. Adams has had numerous run-ins with the law in his adult life and spent time in prison for, among other things, assault and drug crimes. As of 2005 he is out on parole. Since, and even during his most recent incarcertation, Jay has been outspoken on the topic of the dangers of drug abuse, and he applauds young skaters who realize that drugs aren't necessary to be cool. Jay signs all his correspondance as follows: "Jay Adams 100% Skateboarder For Life."
