| Jay Denny (born January 6, 1986 in Los Angeles) is an American soccer player who currently plays for English League Two club Shrewsbury Town. He is a midfielder and wears the number 21 shirt for the club. His parents are both English, and he has lived in England since 1994. He began his career as a trainee with Stoke City but left in 2005 without making an appearance for the club. He joined Shrewsbury Town on a free transfer. Denny started for Shrewsbury on the opening day of the 2005-06 season, in a 1-0 defeat at home to Rochdale. Since then, he has not featured regularly for the club - many of his appearances coming as susbstitute. He has captained USA Under-20s on a number of occasions.
