Jay Sauter (born January 22, 1962 in Necedah, Wisconsin) is a NASCAR driver. He currently drives the #01 Western Union Chevrolet for Duesenberg & Leik Motorsportsin the NASCAR Busch Series.

Sauter's first race in the main three NASCAR series, the Florida Dodge Dealers 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, came during the 1996 Craftsman Truck Series season. For the next three years he would race full time in the series, finishing in the top 6 all three times. He moved up to the Busch Series in 2000 and finished 16th. The following year he would finish 19th, and it would also turn out to be his final full-time season in any of the main NASCAR series. His last start came in a 2005 Busch Series race: the Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway; Sauter would finish 40th.

Jay is the brother to fellow NASCAR drivers Tim Sauter and Johnny Sauter. His father Jim Sauter is a retired NASCAR veteran.
