| Jeffrey Michael Blauser (born November 8, 1965 in Los Gatos, California) is a former shortstop in Major League Baseball for the Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs in the 1980s and 1990s. Blauser was selected by the Braves in the 1st round (5th pick) of the 1984 amateur draft and made his big league debut on July 5, 1987 with the Braves. Blauser was a dependable and powerful right-handed shortstop at 6' 0", 170 lb. He was selected to the National League All-Star Team in 1993 and 1997 and won the Silver Slugger Award in 1997. Blauser played his final game on October 3, 1999 with the Cubs. Blauser retired with a lifetime batting average of .262 and 122 home runs. This coming season, Blauser will be managing the Mississippi Braves, the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.
