| Jethro Franklin (born October 25, 1960 in St. Lazaire, France) is the defensive line coach for the USC Trojans. Franklin is considered one of the top head coach prospects in college football and was considered for the 2006 opening at San Diego State University. Franklin grew up in San Jose, California, attended Yerba Buena High School, San Jose Community College, and graduated from Fresno State University in 1988. He played in the NFL for the Seattle Seahawks in 1989. He was the first choice of the San Antonio Rough Riders of the World League of American Football in 1991, but instead opted to begin a coaching career. He was the defensive line coach at Fresno State from 1991 to 1998, the interior defensive line coach at UCLA in 1999, and the defensive line coach for the Green Bay Packers from 2000 to 2004.
