Joey Browner (born May 15, 1960 in Warren, OH) is a former American Football player and first-round NFL draft choice out of the University of Southern California who played strong safety for the Minnesota Vikings from 1983 until 1991 and then finished his career playing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1992. Browner was selected to six Pro Bowls, in 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, and 1990.

His brother, Keith Browner, also played for USC, and professionally in the NFL between 1984 and 1988 for Tampa Bay, the Raiders, the 49ers and the Chargers and in Arena Football between 1990 and 1997. His nephew, Keith Browner Jr., plays college football linebacker for the University of California. Another nephew, Brandon Browner
plays cornerback for the Denver Broncos.
