Jonathan Carter (born March 20, 1979 in Anniston, Alabama) is an American football wide receiver, who plays for the New York Jets.

He attented Troy State University (now Troy University) and was drafted in the fifth round of the 2001 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. He sat on the practice team for most of the year, and was waived by the team in October 2001. The next day he signed with the Jets.

He scored a touchdown on his first career reception, the sixth Jets player to do so. He has played 22 games for the team, catching two touchdown passes and receiving a total of 266 yards of passes. He also has played one post-season game for the team.
