Justin Ernest Morneau (born on May 15, 1981 in New Westminster, British Columbia) is a Major League Baseball first baseman. He is currently the starting first baseman for the Minnesota Twins. He wears number 33. He bats left-handed but throws right-handed.

Morneau is a 1999 graduate of New Westminster Secondary School where, in addition to playing baseball on a team that won Canada's National Championship in 1997 and 1998, he also played hockey and basketball. Morneau did not attend college; instead, he began his professional career right after high school.

Morneau made his Major League debut on June 10, 2003 playing for the Twins. In 2004, he became the Twins' starting first baseman after the trade of veteran Doug Mientkiewicz to the Boston Red Sox. Some analysts and fans questioned this move, citing Morneau's unproven fielding ability as compared to Mientkiewicz's, but Morneau committed only three errors in 61 games in 2004, while providing a powerful bat behind the plate.

Through the 2005 season, Morneau has compiled a .248 batting average and 45 home runs in 255 games.

He has been named to play for Canada at the World Baseball Classic.
