Justin Willard Thompson (born March 8, 1973, in San Antonio, Texas) is currently a pitcher for the Texas Rangers.

Thompson was drafted out of high school in the first round of the 1991 MLB Draft and started his career with the Detroit Tigers of the American League from 1996 to 1999 and also played two games with the Texas Rangers in the 2005 season.

He was elected to the American League All-Star team in 1997 after a 15 win, 12 losses season in which he also finished fifth in the league with a 3.02 ERA.

Thompson was traded in eight player trade after the 1999 season to the Texas Rangers which invovled Juan Gonzalez being traded to Detroit, where Thompson spent four seasons in the Minors including a serious torn rotator cuff in 2000 that cause him to miss that season before playing in the Majors again for two games in the 2005 season.
