| Lafayette Napoleon Cross (May 12, 1866 – September 6, 1927) was an American third baseman in Major League Baseball who played from 1887 to 1907, 14 of the seasons being spent with three Philadelphia franchises. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he established a major league record for games played at third base, and was captain of the Philadelphia Athletics team which captured American League pennants in 1902 and 1905. Cross died at age 61 in Toledo, Ohio.
