| Les Miles (born November 10, 1953) is the current head coach of the LSU football team. Prior to holding that position, he was head coach at Oklahoma State. He was formerly an assistant at Oklahoma State as well as with the University of Michigan, the University of Colorado and the Dallas Cowboys. In his second year as head coach, he was named the Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year by the Associated Press in 2002 after leading Oklahoma State to their first bowl appearance since 1997. He is a native of Elyria, Ohio, and played football for the Elyria High School Pioneers. He earned an Economics degree from the University of Michigan, where he played on the offensive line. He has a career record of 31-23 in 5 seasons as a head coach at Oklahoma State and LSU.
