Wayne Meyer (born 1975) is an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, Lex Lovett.CareerWayne Meyer graduated from the University of South Florida (where he was a cheerleader) with a degree in finance. Meyer then worked for Raymond James in St. Petersburg, Florida as a junior analyst, and taught business studies at Chamberlain High School in Tampa.Meyer was introduced to wrestling by his friend and former roommate, Alex "Yuell" Lovett. Lovett offered to train Meyer, but passed away suddenly in July 1999. Meyer trained under Steve Keirn and debuted in 2000 on the Floridian independent circuit, adopting the ring name Lex Lovett as a tribute to his friend. Lovett became a mainstay in NWA Florida and the now defunct Independent Pro Wrestling promotion. He aimed to tour Japan, and thus wrestled around the world, competing in Peru, Ireland and Saudi Arabia in order to raise his profile. He had no desire to work for World Wrestling Entertainment, citing "Moral issues". In 2004, Lovett was hired by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, principally as a jobber. While in TNA, he formed a tag team with Buck Quartermain. Quartermain and Lovett were briefly managed by former Survivor competitor Johnny Fairplay. Lovett won the NWA Florida Southern Heavyweight Championship on October 9, 2004, defeating Scoot Andrews in Brandon. He held the title until June 10, 2005, when he received a shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, facing reigning champion A.J. Styles in the main event of the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup. Though Lovett was able to hit his signature Lex Buster, Styles kicked out, and hit Lovett with the Styles Clash for a pinfall victory. After the match, Lovett thanked his fans and announced his retirement, vacating the Southern Heavyweight Championship and paying tribute to his friend Alex Lovett once more. Lovett came out of retirement on October 1, 2005, appearing on the first episode of TNA iMPACT! on Spike TV and losing to "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown in a squash match. He appeared sporadically with the promotion until giving his notice in March 2006. Wrestling factsFinishing and signature moves
