| Linda Tuero (born October 21, 1950) was an American amateur and professional tennis star. She reached the quarter-finals of the French Open in 1971, won singles titles at the Italian Open in 1972, and at Cincinnati in 1968. She was a standout player at Tulane University and played for the United States Federation Cup team in 1972 and 1973. In July 20, 1975, she married Academy Award winner William Peter Blatty, best known for his book The Exorcist. He also wrote the screenplay for the highly successful film. It was her first marriage and his third. Asked what moved him to wed, Blatty replied: "An angel made me do it."
