Maceo Baston (born May 29 1976 in Corsicana, Texas, USA) is a professional basketball player. Currently plays for Maccabi Tel-Aviv basketball club.

Height: 206 cm. Position: Power forward/Center.

Career

Maceo Baston was selected 58 in the 1998 NBA draft by Chicago Bulls after playing college basketball at University of Michigan. Played in Quad City Thunders in the CBA (1998-2000), then in Italy (SC Montecatini, 2000-01) and Spain (Joventut Badalona, 2001-02 and a part of 2002-03), left for NBA's Toronto Raptors in January 2003 and remained there till the end of the season. Signed with Maccabi Tel-Aviv in 2003 and still plays there.

So far, both his seasons with Maccabi were perfect: 2 national championship, 2 national cups and 2 Euroleague titles.

Baston's main asset is his athleticism. He moves quickly for a big man and is very good shotblocker. His offensive game is limited, but his quickness allows him to cut to the paint, where he often gets nice assists from his teammates. He's considered foul prone, probably because when Maccabi suddenly forgets to play defense, he is the only one between a penetrating player and the basket.
