Athletes - Man Soo Lee


Man Soo Lee is the bullpen catcher for the Chicago White Sox. He is often seen playing catch with the center fielder between innings. He played 16 seasons with the Korean League Samsung Lions and was known as the Babe Ruth
of Korea, hitting 252 home runs and plating 861 RBIs during his career as a player. He won the Korean League Triple Crown in 1984 with a .340 batting average, 23 home runs and 83 RBIs. He was voted by the fan's as the Athlete of the Century in Korea.

As a coach in the United States, Lee began his career as the hitting coach for the Class A Kingston Indians in 1998. He moved to the White Sox organization in 1999, serving as the first base coach for the White Sox AAA affiliate Charlotte Knights until assuming his current position in 2000.

Lee is married and has two children, is an avid golfer, and is known to teammates by his nickname "Hulk". He currently maintains his own web site: www.leemansoo.com
