| Manuel Wright (born April 13, 1984 in Compton, CA) is an NFL defensive lineman who was drafted by the Miami Dolphins from USC in 2005, with a fifth round pick in the supplemental draft. The 6'6", 290-pound Wright made sports headlines after he broke down in tears following a spirited lecture from the Dolphins' new head coach Nick Saban. Jokes circulated about Wright allegedly crying because Saban had told him "who really was the national champion in 2003", referring to the split national title between Wright's USC team and LSU, which was the school Saban had coached at that year. Wright, like many other NFL players, went to Long Beach Polytechnic High School in Long Beach.
