Marie Ferdinand (born October 13, 1978 in Miami, Florida) is a professional basketball player for the San Antonio Silver Stars in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).

Personal

On January 13, 2006, the San Antonio Express-News reported that Ferdinand was expecting a baby boy in June, and was planning to return to the San Antonio Silver Stars by July 2006, preferably after the WNBA All-Star Game. She is currently engaged to Cedric Harris, a fellow student-athlete she met at Louisiana State University. They are scheduled to be married in February 2006.

Highschool years

As a senior, Ferdinand averaged 24.0 points, seven rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 2 steals per game, and was named the 1995 Player of the Year in Florida.

College years

Ferdinand attended Louisiana State University.

WNBA career

Ferdinand was selected by the Utah Starzz 8th overall in the 1st round of the 2001 WNBA Draft. She remains one of the Starzz players during the relocation to San Antonio.
