| Mark Carrier (born April 28, 1968 in Lake Charles, Louisiana) is a 1989 graduate of the University of Southern California. Carrier was the only Jim Thorpe Award winner from USC as the top defensive back. Prior to USC, he went to Long Beach Polytechnic High School. He was selected with the 6th pick and played safety and won Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1990 for the Chicago Bears, and played for the Detroit Lions and Washington Redskins until 2000. He played in 3 Pro Bowls in 1990, 1991 and 1993. In 2006 the Baltimore Ravens hired Mark Carrier as their secondary coach. He was an assistant coach at Arizona State University the previous two years.
