| Mark Howe (born May 28 1955, in Detroit, Michigan) is a former professional ice hockey defenceman who played 16 seasons in the National Hockey League. He is the son of hockey legend Gordie Howe. Howe played 929 career NHL games, scoring 197 goals and 545 assists for 742 points. His best offensive season was the 1985-86 NHL season, when he scored 24 goals, 58 assists, 82 points, 7 shorthanded goals and had a +85 plus/minus rating, all career highs. He also played six seasons in the World Hockey Association.
