Athletes - Mathias Kiwanuka

Mathias Kagimu Kiwanuka (born March 8, 1983 in Indianapolis, Indiana) is a college football player for Boston College of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Kiwanuka plays defensive end. He led the Big East Conference in sacks during the 2003 and 2004 seasons with 11.5 each season. Although he likely would have been a first round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, he elected to return to BC for his senior season. Kiwanuka is likely to get more national attention in 2005 as BC makes the move from the Big East Conference to the higher profile ACC. In 2005 he was named ACC Preseason Player of the Year and was also named to multiple preseason All-America teams.

He is the grandson of Benedicto Kiwanuka, the first Prime Minister of Uganda.
