| Matthew Dodge Nokes (born October 31, 1963, in San Diego, California) was an American Major League Baseball catcher with an 11 year career from 1985 to 1995. He played for the San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies both of the National League, and the Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles all of the American League. He played catcher, first base, third base, outfield, designated hitter, and the "field." He was elected to the American League All-Star team in 1987. In 1992, Matt Nokes was elected to the prestigious Upper Deck Home Run Heroes team with Ivan Calderon.
