Matthew Wiese better known as Luther Reigns (born September 22, 1971 in Hell's Kitchen, New York, New York) is an American professional wrestler, best known for his appearances on World Wrestling Entertainment's SmackDown! brand between April 29, 2004 and May 11 2005.

Career

Wiese started his career as a jobber in WCW in 1997 by the name of Horshu (he appeared under this alias on an episode of the Jenny Jones Show shortly before it was cancelled, in which he was one of the guests in the panel that was depicted as having gone from an ordinary and plain look in his early years to a dramatic overhaul to his appearance currently) .

Wiese later wrestled in Ohio Valley Wrestling where he was known as Inspector Max Impact. He was brought into the WWE as the "assistant" to (then) general manager Kurt Angle. He formed a brief but successful tag team with Mark Jindrak, they even wrestled for the tag titles on many different occasions. Angle and Jindrak had been his run-in partners ever since in the WWE.

In his life before becoming a WWE superstar, he endured many hardships, including several drug overdoses, being fired from the WCW roster and at one point having his throat cut from ear to ear. And was allegedly (while in prison)locked in solitary confinement for 5 years.

Wiese was released by the WWE on May 11 2005. By all reports, the split between Wiese and the WWE was amicable, and Weise is now retiring from wrestling to focus on a career in real estate.

In early 2006 Wiese was working as a bodyguard. He was spotted at the AVN porn convention in Las Vegas working as a bodyguard.

Wiese also appeared in the movie The Girl Next Door as "Mule"
