| Melvin Anderson Ely (born 2 May 1978 in Harvey, Illinois) is a professional basketball player in the NBA. After a college career at the California State University, Fresno, Ely was selected as a senior by the Los Angeles Clippers with the 12th overall pick of the 2002 NBA Draft. He was later picked up by the Charlotte Bobcats in their expansion draft, and has averaged 5.6 points per game through his career.
